We would like to welcome Dennis Whitcome and Michelle Stevens to the Sunshine State! A bit about our presenters – Dennis Whitcombe an ASLIA Vic Award winning interpreter experienced in the DeafBlind field is going to talk us through the different aspect of DeafBlind interpreting, including – Tactile, Hand over hand, Visual frame and haptics. Michelle Stevens a presenter who is DeafBlind will talk about her lived experienced from a client perspective and guide us through DeafBlind cultural awareness, including – break times, guide dogs, general etiquette, ect. We then aim to invite the local DeafBlind community for hands on training toward the end of the workshop.
